Students of Overnewton College, Australia in SMKCS


On 4th July 2012, SMK Convent Sentul welcomed the students of Overnewton Anglican Community College, Australia. 15 students from the age range of 14-16 alongside with parents and teachers came to SMKCS starting from 9 am.
The mark of their arrival was when the students of SMKCS played the kompang. A picture was taken upon their arrival. Then, SMKCS students from the second formers presented the '1Malaysia' dance for the guests.



After that, the guests were taken to the APD room, where they had A Glimpse Of SMKCS from the presentation by the principal and students. A short experiement was held to show the chemical formation of YTT flower.


The prefects then guide the guests to the platform and badminton court for the next session, the traditional games. The guests were introduced to three games, batu seremban, congkak, and sepak raga(sepak takraw)

From the activity the guests were able to know the traditional games of Malaysia. Even though some of the games might require some skills to play with it.

At 10.30, the students of Overnewton College were taken around the school, guided by a prefect for each student, they were introduced to the school labs, discipline room, classroom and others. So, they are able to see how does the students learn in school.



All of the guests then were taken to a room, to have some treat.
There, they were served with Malaysian food such as roti canai, mihun sup, keropok lekor, kuih lapis and also some local fruits, rambutan, pulasan and mata kucing.






Puan Tan Tee Hwa then presents momentos to Overnewton College for their visit. Overnewton College also gave SMKCS something in return, a football! (or what Malaysians call, rugby :D)



The students of SMKCS and Overnewton college exchange their gifts, emails and also took some pictures to be kept as memories.

The students of Overnewton College then sang a song to bid farewell to the SMKCS teachers and students. The students of SMKCS sang a Malaysian song, rasa sayang eh ( sort of a nursery rhyme) and their school song~

Teachers' Day Review

SMKCS Principal words on Teachers' Day celebration!

2012 Teachers' day Celebration (D-Day-25th May)


Teachers are our second parents. They educate us patiently, and endure all the hardships in improving us as a human. They build the future generation, they teach us how to live, and to appreciate what we have.

So, why not celebrate your teachers, with all your heart, made them feel special even if its just for a day?

In SMKCS, teachers will have to follow the Teachers' Day theme. This year, it has been decided that it will be BLUE and PURPLE.

Prefects are in charge of the event.

The event continues after all teachers arrived at their respective seats. Audience sang 'Negaraku' then after the prayer, speeches were delivered.

The first speech was delivered by the Head Prefect of SMKCS


Followed by the Principal, Puan Tan Tee Hwa


And the YDP PIBG


After that, teachers sang 'Kami Guru Malaysia', a song on teachers. The teachers also say their pledge in front of the students.


Next, the main show is on. The opening ceremony will be completed by the release of balloons to the air. Teachers are divided into 5 groups. The first group are the school administrators. Second group are teachers with age range of 19-29, third is 30-39, fourth is 40-49 and the last group is for teachers aged 50 and above.

2012 SMKCS Teachers' Day (Preparation-24th May)


Teachers' Day celebration are handled by the Prefectorial Board, thus, prefects, with the help of other students, work hard during the preparation of SMKCS Teachers' Day 2012
